You will collected at least an hour before your scheduled appointment, giving us plenty of time for you to familiarize yourself with the car, get some last minute practise and help to calm those "driving test day nerves". We will then make our way to the test centre arriving 10 minuets before the test is due to start.
You will be led out to the car park where the test will begin with an eyesight test. You will then be asked
two safety questions about the car, in the form of 'show me, tell me'. Once settled in the car the examiner will explain that you are to drive ahead and that the test will include several exercises including two set reverse manoeuvres and possibly an emergency stop.
The drive will last about 30-40 minuets.
At the end of the test, the examiner will spend a moment evaluating the result of the test. You will then
be informed whether you have passed on this occasion.
If you have passed you will given a pass certificate. The examiner can arrange for your new licence to be
sent to you automatically.
If you are unsuccessful, you (and the instructor) should listen to the debrief given by the examiner so you know which areas need more work. You can rebook your practical test a minimum of 10 working days later.
On the day of your test it’s only natural that as a learner driver you will feeling nervous. Remember that i would not have advised you to take your driving test if i did not feel you were ready.
